The Sacrament of Confirmation
At St. Alphonsus Church, we joyfully celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation as a vital step in a Catholic’s journey of faith. Confirmation completes the grace of Baptism by sealing the individual with the gift of the Holy Spirit, strengthening them to live as committed disciples of Christ. Through this sacrament, candidates are empowered to live out their faith boldly and to take a more active role in the life and mission of the Church.
Confirmation is not just a rite of passage—it is a deep encounter with God’s presence and power. The gifts of the Holy Spirit—wisdom, understanding, right judgment, courage, knowledge, reverence, and awe of the Lord—are stirred within the heart of each confirmand, helping them to grow in spiritual maturity and witness to their faith in everyday life.
